Get to know the artist...

Hey, I’m Jess – a wildlife and abstract painter based in Central Queensland. I’m all about bold colours, rich textures, and mixed media, using my art to explore how colour stirs up emotion. Whether I’m capturing the raw energy of nature or layering abstract elements, my work is all about feeling something.

I was born in Ontario, Canada, and grew up by a beautiful lakeside, always surrounded by creativity. My family is full of creators – autobody painters, artists, woodworkers, and musicians – so expressing myself through art just felt natural.

My love for colour started young. Back in the ‘90s, I spent weekends at motocross tracks across Ontario and the U.S., cheering on my brother. My mom dressed us up in bright, fluorescent colours so we stood out in the crowd – turns out, those bold shades stuck with me and now shape my work in a big way.

In my paintings, I love playing with layers and textures to create something you can almost feel just by looking at it. Whether it’s wildlife or abstract forms, I want my art to pull you in and make you see colour and emotion in a new way. Every piece tells a story – my story – but also invites you to find your own meaning in it.

Thanks for stopping by – I hope you find something that speaks to you!
